Phil and Sandy Hovatter have been married for nearly 35 years! They met and fell madly in love in college and have gone through the ups and downs of life that normal couples do. What has carried them through those ups and downs is their strong faith in Jesus Christ. Relying on Him brings peace and capabilities that without Him would never be there. Scriptures like “The earnest prayer of a righteous man is effective and powerful,” “In me (Jesus), you may have peace” (John 16:33) and “I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength” (Phil 4:13) are not panaceas but the living, active, inspired Word of God (Heb 4:12, 2 Tim 3:16).

Phil and Sandy are active in their local church and in ministries beyond the local church. Sandy is an ordained minister of the Gospel and preaches and teaches regularly. Check out her spiritual blog at www.ApprehendingGrace.com. She is available to speak or preach at your local church function. Contact her through this website (see below) or her ministry blog.

You can read about how they became preppers in this blog. Contact them if you’d like them to talk with your group about prepping.

With this website, Phil and Sandy are breaking one of the first rules of prepping – keeping your preparations secret. Most preppers are silent about their efforts because the approaching day could bring civil such unrest that letting people know you have food and water brings danger to your family. We understand that, but feel called to be one who warns and helps people prepare for such a day. We believe that the Church can arise during times of disaster and the name of Christ can be lifted high…but only if we’re still there to be the Church. (Of course, if the Lord comes for us first, we’ll happily join Him in the sky!)
